Kansas Senate District 21 Campaign Update- November

Hi everybody, Tom Bickimer reporting in.  My Campaign is now two months old and things continue to hum right along.  By far, the best part of this journey has been the great people I’ve gotten to meet- folks I never would have met if not for this campaign.

I’ll say this, too.  Running for public office has served as a great civics lesson reminder.  At its most basic level, a legislator introduces and passes laws that promote and preserve the well-being of society while also exercising a fiscal responsibility for their citizen’s hard–earned money.  A legislature’s actions should always be grounded in the principles set forth in the state constitution.  Here’s what the Preamble to our state constitution says:

We, the people of Kansas, grateful to Almighty God for our civil and religious privileges, in order to insure our full employment of our rights as American citizens, do ordain and establish this constitution.

And our constitution contains a Bill of Rights that begins by stating:  All men are possessed of equal and unalienable natural rights, among which are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and ends with: power not herein delegated, remains with the people.  If elected, I pledge to always keep those words of wisdom in mind while working for the good people of Kansas.

I’m Tom Bickimer, and I approved this message.
